If you have any questions you want to have answered, make sure to let me know!

Some questions you  can expect to have answered (maybe!):

1. What cities are you considering for the Running Festivals?
1a. When will you announce which cities?
2. Will the festivals be a two-day event, and if so, what races will be on each day?
3. What sources will you use for water? Will you use fire hydrant water?
4. What has been your biggest challenge in getting the Running Festivals started?
5. How many people do you expect to attend each event?

And many, many more!

About Barry Siff

barry-siff-lgBarry Siff has directed over 100 multisport events since 1998, including adventure races and camps, winter triathlons, numerous nationally acclaimed summer triathlons, cycling events, and running races. Siff is also the man behind the famed 5430 Sports triathlon and running series, which grew from one event in 2004 to eight events, serving over 7,000 participants by 2009. These events were sold to World Triathlon Corporation (“Ironman”) in June, 2009.

As an athlete, Barry has completed over 50 marathons, 10 Ironman triathlons, and virtually every major adventure race in the world from 1998-2003. Before starting MountainQuest Adventures in 1998 with partner Liz Caldwell, Barry was a partner in a highly successful telemarketing company in Omaha, NE, as well as a Sr. Vice President of a $7 billion food business. Barry is Vice President of the National Board of Directors for USA Triathlon, and has previously served as the Chair of USAT’s Race Director Committee. In 2011-2012, he was Co-Chair of Boulder’s Local Organizing Committee for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. This event was arguably the largest single-day cycling event in American pro cycling. In addition, Barry has co-authored two sports/fitness books, and has been a regular contributor to major multisport magazines both here in the U.S., as well as Australia, Canada, and Great Britain.

Both Tom and Barry share a common passion, energy and commitment toward building opportunities and high quality events for people to be active. It was through a discussion about triathlons, fitness, and health that the concept of bringing “… a distance for everyone” to the running world was hatched – large weekend festivals in major metropolitan areas, including not only the running events, themselves; but, also, an atmosphere of heath & wellness education and inspiration. The HITS Running Festivals will be runsational!

Barry will be based out of Boulder and Tucson with his wife, Jodee, who is a creative artist and works primarily with recycled materials. Barry has two sons, Brian who lives in Golden, BC and Elliot who resides in Denver, CO. Barry and Jodee are loving guardians of Jackpot, their 7-year-old Border Collie mix from the Humane Society of Boulder.
